Belgium must withdraw its corona measures within thirty days. A court in Brussels has ruled this in a case brought by the human rights organization League for Human Rights.
According to the court, there is no good legal basis. If the government does not revoke the measures, the state will have to pay a daily penalty of 5000 euros. Home Affairs Minister Verlinden is studying the verdict.
According to VRT Nieuws, the measures are based on a number of contingency plan laws. They would not have sufficient basis to justify such drastic measures.
The government has thirty days to fix it and can still appeal the decision.
