The third expansion stage of the 4.4-liter V8 petrol engine in the current M5 has an output of 10 hp more than in the M5 Competition and therefore exceeds the standard M5 by 35 hp. 70 kilos lighter, only tenths of a second faster
The increased performance is combined with a weight reduction of 70 kilograms, which among other things results from the increased use of carbon components, for example in the engine cover and center console. However, the measures only improve driving performance slightly.
The sprint from standstill to 100 km / h is completed in 3.0 instead of 3.3 seconds, and after 10.4 seconds (competition: 10.8 s) there are 200 km / h. There is no change in the top speed: the all-wheel drive reaches a maximum of electronically regulated 305 km / h.
M5 CS costs 180,400 euros
The top five can be recognized from the outside by, among other things, a kidney rim in the color “gold bronze”, bright yellow daytime running lights in the laser light headlights and a special four-pipe exhaust system. On request, three exclusive paints – in gray and green tones – are also available.
The equipment of the racer, which is consistently available as a four-seater, also includes ceramic brakes, mixed track tires and Alcantara on the steering wheel and headliner.
