Brigadeiros
When making brigadeiros, it is important to think carefully in advance how many bonbons you want to make. Take a large deep pan, so that you can mix all the ingredients well. This dish is good for 30 chocolates.
Ingredients:
- 1 can of sweet condensed milk;
- 1 spoon of salt-free margarine;
- 4 large spoons of chocolate powder;
- chocolate sprinkles
Preparation:
Prepare a plate with a heap of chocolate sprinkles on top. You can let the chocolates bathe in here.
Preparation method:
Mix the condensed milk, margarine and chocolate powder in a saucepan. Heat the pan on a low heat and stir everything well until the stuff starts to separate from the pan. Remove the mixture from the heat and let it cool well. Meanwhile, grease your hands with butter. Take a little of the mixture in your hands and make balls of it, which you then roll in the sprinkles. Serve the brigadeiros on a plate or in a bowl.
Optional:
Put the brigadeiros in the fridge for a while, so that they harden a bit.

How did brigadeiros originate?
Brigadeiros (Portuguese for ?? brigadiers ??) are named after Brazilian brigadier Eduardo Gomes, who was part of the communist party in Rio de Janeiro in the 1940s. He attempted to run for president twice, but never came to power. He did introduce the brigadeiros for the first time in Brazil during the election parties. At a time when there was a significant shortage of traditional imports, Nestlé introduced the chocolate powder to the country. This gave a significant boost to the sales of Brazilian cocoa beans and also led to an increase in the popularity of the brigadeiros. Nowadays these bonbons are indispensable in Brazilian cuisine.
