Audi is a German brand and was founded in 1899. Audi produces cars that have a solid appearance. You can read here what the pros and cons are of an Audi. Handy to have on hand when you are going to purchase an Audi.
Establishment
The German August Horch, who previously worked at Benz, founded a new car company in 1899. He did this together with three others. Horch had his ambition in motorsport, but none of the others. Disagreements arose between the partners and in 1909 Horch was expelled from his own company. He set up a new car factory called Audi, because Audi is Latin for Horch. Later four brands merged with each other and four rings were hooked together as a mark. This is still the current logo for the Audi brand.
The factory was taken over by Mercedes-Benz and later by Volkswagen again. Volkswagen and Audi both went their separate ways and the name Audi eventually changed to Audi AG.
Models
Audi has different models in different price ranges. You already have an Audi from 18,000 euros. The most expensive models cost up to 250,000 euros. A number of models have an open roof, such as the A3 Cabriolet and the A5 Cabriolet. The roadster has this too. Audi mainly has many sporty models.
The smaller models are generally seen as the “women’s cars”. Audi has something for everyone. There are the smaller models, the off-road vehicles, coupes, convertibles, sports, SUV, etc. There is also the Audi e-tron: an Audi with an electric motor.
Advantages of Audi
Most people think Audi is a car to show off. The appearance of the Audi’s does not lie, they are often sporty. The interior is often of decent quality and lasts a long time. The Audi is generally economical: the large A2 can easily reach 1:17 in consumption. The R8, a spot model (coupé) is a true heaven to drive in. In general, most Audis do attract attention.
Disadvantages of Audi
An Audi often wants to quickly develop technical problems, but this also depends on the model and how much it is driven. You can expect an expensive car like Audi to be able to drive it without problems for a long time, but this is not always the case. The price of the Audi is the second disadvantage: for the simple citizen who wants to buy a car cheaply, an Audi is not a good option. The Audi sometimes wants to bump when you drive on paved roads. These are the larger models. The Audi Q5 (off-road vehicle) falters a lot in the gearbox or in the technical parts. The Audi A4 is expensive to use, the manufacturer promises 1:18, but it often only just gets 1:10. For people who buy an expensive car, the defects are often a disappointment. The parts for Audi are quite affordable.
Please note, in most cases this article is about the experiences of Audi users. Of course everyone has their own experiences.
