If it is still summer and the sun shows itself regularly, then we prefer not to think about autumn. Autumn simply has something gloomy about it. On the one hand because of the end of the summer and the holiday period and on the other hand because of the dark (read also: depressive) color palette that belongs to autumn. However, the aforementioned color palette actually contains many more colors in the fall than the color palette in the summer, and the autumn brings the homely cosiness closer. So let fall in, celebrate fall!
Is autumn a gloomy period or not?
There are people who feel gloomy when the leaves fall, quite a few people feel less energetic during this period. The fresh and cheerful light of summer is missing. It is a kind of automaton that switches on when the leaves are whirling away from the tree. However, the leaves of the various trees and shrubs leave the tree or shrub with the most beautiful colors and discolor again once on the ground. They slowly discolour and pulverize until they are absorbed into the soil again and will serve as food for the next year. However, if someone is depressed, then this is not seen.
The fact that the leaves form a breeding ground for the next year is a very nice process. After all, it is the beginning of the new (nature) year. Nature prepares for the winter and then fully sprouts in the following spring. But unfortunately we don’t always see it that way. If you want to see and experience it, start by reminding yourself to do activities. However difficult this may be.
Enjoy the fall
Whether you celebrate autumn, because the season is getting ready to return to its full glory after winter or because autumn is also the start of a cozy period indoors, autumn at least heralds a new season. It also makes a start by cleaning up everything so that after winter a beautiful spring can come again. In short, delve consciously into autumn and experience how beautiful this season can be. If you immerse yourself, there is a good chance that you will feel happier. The gloomy feelings are slowly pushed into the background. So celebrate the season!
Colors
Autumn has the widest color palette of all seasons. You only experience that when you walk around in the forest, for example. In addition to breathing fresh air and making the walk soothing, it is also beautiful to see in autumn. All colors of leaves from green to hard or deep red to orange / yellow or the dark brown dried leaves, they pass in review and make the whole – especially with a little sun – into a beautiful whole. If it is not the leaves, it is the different types of mushrooms that settle in the seemingly strangest places. Learn to pay attention to details and you are more likely to notice them and make you happy.
When you immerse yourself in what autumn nature has to offer, you also automatically let go of your thoughts. If you can let go of the depressing idea, the fall nature is absolutely calming, remarkable and the time to recharge.
Fragrances
Many people experience the early spring scents in spring as the most pleasant natural scents. But we don’t pay enough attention to the soft autumn scents. The resting position in which the trees and shrubs come, let you experience that nature pauses for a while.
Combine it with a crackling fire where you can burn some fallen branches together and you are immediately in that cozy autumn period. Or, if there is a sauna nearby, this is the ultimate time to combine the sauna with cooling off in the fresh autumn nature. Besides bringing nature closer to you, it is also very healthy.
Taste
Of course you make it even more autumn if you roast the sweet chestnut. You can recognize the sweet chestnut by its hairy casing. If you take the sweet chestnut out of its sleeve and cut a cross in the top, this will prevent the chestnuts from popping in the oven. Just about 10 to 15 minutes on the baking tray in the oven (approximately 200 degrees) and the chestnuts are ready. The chestnut is a typical autumn product and the smell and taste of the sweet chestnut really comes in.
From September to early October is also the time for picking delicious apples (a single variety is only harvested in November). So why not on the road, pick and eat an apple fresh from the tree during an autumn walk. At many farmers you will find freshly picked apples in a box along the road. If you are in the areas where grapes grow, then autumn is also the time to harvest and eat a bunch of them. In principle, grapes are picked between mid-September and mid-October.
Animals
In the fall you often see the animals better and in certain areas they come relatively close. Think of the wild boars, foxes or deer. The Bronze Age for the red deer starts in September and if you get up early you can hear the males. This is the beginning of a new period and besides a beautiful natural process, it also makes many people happy. Another time to celebrate.
Finally
You have to experience autumn and that can only be done by standing in the middle of it and allowing what nature has in store during this period. Let the overwhelming smells and colors come over you, as it were, and it suppresses the possibly negative feeling about this period. Autumn has its own character that you can fully enjoy ?? so celebrate this new period exuberantly! It feels good to go into winter like this.
