In Britain, there has been criticism of the police action at a vigil for the murdered 33-year-old Sarah Everard. Hundreds of people gathered in a park in London.

British Interior Minister Patel calls the police’s actions a concern and has demanded clarification from the police force. “Some images circulating on the Internet of the Clapham vigil are disturbing. I have asked the Metropolitan Police for a full report on what happened,” she writes. Twitter.
London mayor Sadiq Khan has also responded to the police approach. He calls the images unacceptable. The police have a responsibility to enforce the Covid measures, but footage I’ve seen shows that the response was inappropriate and disproportionate at times, ”Khan wrote on Twitter.
Members of parliament have also reacted shocked to the police action. They say the police were too harsh on the protesters.
Sarah Everard was kidnapped and murdered early this month. Her death has sparked a debate on women’s safety in Britain. The main suspect is a 48-year-old policeman who, among other things, secured the official residence of the British Prime Minister. Nothing is known about the motif.
