Desserts, always delicious, as a snack, for breakfast, or just after your dinner, desserts are just part of the deal. Here are a few recipes of delicious desserts, easy to prepare, and of course good old-fashioned.
curd
- 4 liters of buttermilk
- 8 biscuits
- Brown sugar
- 1/2 cup of milk or cream
Take a large saucepan and place a colander in it. Place a clean cloth over the pan and colander and pour the buttermilk onto the cloth. The buttermilk will be sieved through the cloth, leaving the thick part on the cloth. Put this thick part in a bowl and stir in the milk or cream. Then pour this over the rusks and then sprinkle the brown sugar over it.
Rice porridge with currants
- 250 grams of rice
- 3/4 liter of water
- 100 grams of currants or raisins
- salt
- butter
- sugar
First the rice and currants must be washed. In the meantime, bring the water to a boil, after which the rice and currants must be added, also add a little salt. Then you let everything boil without stirring, this takes about half an hour, after which everything has to be stirred well. Divide everything over a number of plates, add sugar to taste and a knob of butter in the center to finish.
Apple porridge
- 750 grams of apples, preferably sour
- 300 grams of flour
- 2 liters of buttermilk
- Brown sugar
Peel and core the apples, then make apple sauce. Mix the buttermilk with the flour until it is a paste and then pour this into the apple sauce, while stirring well. Let it cook for a while. After serving, add sugar to taste.
Hague bluff
- 250 grams of sugar
- 2 decilitres of currant juice
- 2 proteins
- long fingers
Mix the sugar, currant juice and egg whites in a bowl and beat until stiff, so stiff that the bowl can be held upside down without running out again. Divide this into bowls and serve with lady fingers.
