Pizza is known and loved worldwide. But ready-to-eat pizza is extremely greasy, usually thickly topped with cheese. But to make the bottom yourself, if you have to cook first after a working day and a meal is preferably ready quickly, is not convenient. Still you want to eat healthy. But how? A very handy way is to buy a ready-made soil and invest it with whatever you want.

Buy ready-made pizza crust
The base of your pizza is the bottom. There are a number of options:
- buy the cheapest pizza, it has minimal toppings
- buy a pizza base without toppings
- buy a pizza base with just a tomato layer
Cheap pizza with minimal toppings
These are often for sale in the supermarket in a pack of 2 or 3 pieces. They are often called Margherita and are minimally invested. Usually an unclear filling of some tomatoes (sauce) and cheese, without meat. The advantage is that you can dress it yourself with a topping of your own favorite ingredients. The disadvantage is that this basic base contains quite a few calories.
Pizza base without toppings
This bottom is for sale completely bare. It’s just a baked dough layer. The less topping the bottom has, the more influence you have on the topping and therefore the fat percentage and calories of your pizza. Don’t make the mistake of topping the bottom with ingredients without a tomato coating. A moist tomato layer is necessary to keep the pizza creamy. The ingredients dry out too much without a tomato coating. Your pizza will be tough and not tasty.
Buy a pizza base with only a tomato layer
Last but not least: my favorite: the pizza base covered with a thin layer of tomato sauce, nothing else. For sale at Albert Heijn as a Steenovenpizzabodem, among others. You can find them in the refrigerator, not in the freezer. Less human as I am, I first cut them in half with a knife when I buy them. With packaging and all. I wrap them in deep freeze resistant plastic. Most people can eat a whole pizza. But try a half homemade pizza with a small salad. And see if that is enough for you. We often eat too much because it is tasty, not because we are still hungry. Drinking a glass of water beforehand also makes a difference.
By freezing the cut half bottom, you can easily take half per meal from the freezer. The bottom will taste best if you let it thaw slightly outside the freezer or refrigerator. If it is a bit late for that, you can also put it in the microwave for a short while, or in the oven that you have to preheat anyway. The bottom does not have to be completely thawed before you start investing it. These bottoms are not too thick and are quickly thawed during further preparation. You are extra energy efficient if you already have the pizza prepared in the oven while preheating the oven. Check now and then whether the pizza is already good. This is how you get to know your own oven. It may be that your pizza is already ready after preheating the oven, or that it only needs to be in the oven for a few minutes on the convection program.
Now you can top the pizza crust with anything. You can also process vegetable leftovers nicely.

We assume the pizza base is already covered with a thin layer of tomato sauce and half a pizza in terms of topping.
Pizza with spinach cubes and goat cheese
Required:
- Pizza Bottom
- 8 to 10 spinach cubes (delicious are the spinach a la crème)
- 200 grams of goat cheese
Place the goat cheese in slices on the pizza. Place the diced spinach on top too. Bake the pizza in the oven. When the pizza is done, you can. still invest with some pine nuts.
Pizza with tuna and tomato
Required:
- Pizza Bottom
- can of tuna (smallest can is enough for half a bottom)
- 1 large tomato or 2 small ones
- capers
Drain the water or oil from the tuna can. Cut the tomato into pieces and let the tomato water run out (this would make the pizza too wet and therefore too weak). Cover the pizza with the ingredients and bake it in the oven.
