(Healthy) Sint Maarten treats
It is starting to arrive again, November 11 is the day; St Martin! A big happening for many children. What it’s all about are the delicious treats of course. People who want to take it easy can just go to the supermarket, but how much fun is it to make their own treat ?! To help you a little, I give tips for healthy and ” slightly less ” healthy treats and a number of other great ideas.
Around the eleventh of November there is a good chance that it will be chilly, wet and cold outside. The children and parents are often quite numb after all the doors have gone off. A tasty, warm treat will certainly go into it. Not only the children, but also the parents are almost through it, but then they come past you! There you are with a pan full of deliciously warm frankfurters. If you want to excel even more in your area, wrap the frankfurters in puff pastry and put them in the oven for about 12 minutes. The children will definitely come again next year!
Something to drink
After all that walking, singing and snacking you will of course get very thirsty. Besides the lantern and a bag full of sweets, drinking a bottle is often too much. That’s why this is a perfect idea to hand out instead of all those goodies. Buy small weighing cups and fill them with different types of lemonade for the kids to choose. If it is very cold outside, you can choose to dilute the lemonade with warm / boiled water. The parents always like a cup of coffee or tea. Place the cups on a nice table with some candles. Finally, make sure you have a trash can so that you don’t have to go all over the neighborhood the next day looking for empty cups.
The children are bound to walk with a bag overloaded with sweets. They will be just as happy, if not happier, with a small gift. They will remember it longer and it is something different. You can think of stickers, books, notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers, bouncing balls and so on. Everything you can buy for a nice price is good. A nice alternative and a lot healthier!
Which child is not crazy about coloring and drawing. On the internet you can find a lot of coloring pages that you can print right away. Print out different types, including age, gender and different interests. Roll up the coloring pages and tie a colorful ribbon around them so that the coloring page comes home wrinkle-free.
