Siegfried Fischbacher, known as the illusionist of Siegfried & Roy, has passed away at the age of 81. The German illusionist was suffering from pancreatic cancer. Last year, his partner Roy Horn died from the consequences of the corona virus. He was 75 years old.
Fischbacher passed away at his Las Vegas home on January 14. At the beginning of January his illness was diagnosed and it turned out that there was no chance of a cure for him.
The illusionist duo became world famous with extravagant lion and tiger shows. For twenty years, men were the highest paid performers in Las Vegas.
In 1999 Siegfried & Roy were starred on the Hollywood Walk of Fame:
The success of their performances came to an end when Horn was seriously injured in 2003 as a result of an attack by one of the animals. Horn was partially paralyzed and never performed again. “The world has lost one of the greatest magicians and I have lost my best friend”, Fischbacher responded last year to Horn’s death. “From the moment we met, I knew that Roy and I would change the world. There is no Siegfried without Roy and no Roy without Siegfried.”
