As befits a facelift, Jaguar has given the F-Pace face a new freshness with a modified radiator grille look, more distinctive beading in the bonnet and modified headlights and LED daytime running lights. The rear lights are also presented in a modernized form, which also applies to the front and rear aprons.
F-Pace for the first time as a plug-in hybrid
Two petrol, three diesel and one plug-in hybrid will be available as drives in the future. The latter goes by the abbreviation P400e and combines a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo gasoline engine with a 105 kW electric motor, which unleashes 297 kW / 404 PS and 640 Newton meters of torque in concert. The sprint to 100 km / h takes 5.3 seconds, with a maximum of 240 km / h. It doesn’t drive quite as dynamically in E mode, which thanks to the 17 kWh battery should allow up to 59 kilometers of emission-free driving. Jaguar specifies a combined fuel consumption of 2.4 liters, while the electricity consumption should be 17.6 kWh per 100 kilometers (combined CO2 emissions: 54 g / km²).
Six-cylinder in-line petrol and diesel engines
Apart from the 184 kW / 250 hp P250 petrol engine, a 48-volt mild hybrid system with a belt starter generator will help all other combustion variants to achieve greater efficiency. The top petrol engine is currently the new in-line six-cylinder P400 with 294 kW / 400 PS, which allows a sprint time of 5.4 seconds and a top speed of 250 km / h (combined fuel consumption: 7.7-8.9 l / 100 km; CO2 -Emissions combined: 174-202 g / km²). The two four-cylinder diesels D165, D200 and the new in-line six-cylinder diesel D300 produce 120 kW / 163 PS, 150 kW / 204 PS and 221 kW / 300 PS. The consumption is between 5.2 and 6.9 liters, the CO2 emissions between 137 and 183 grams per kilometer². In all cases, the engines are linked to all-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic.
Subtle changes in the interior
One of the innovations in the interior is a digital instrument cluster with a 12.3-inch screen diagonal, which replaces the analogue instruments in conventional drives, but only from the SE version, while this display solution is standard in the P400e. There is also an 11.4-inch touchscreen in the center of the dashboard as a display and control unit for the new Pivi Pro infotainment generation. Among other things, it offers new connectivity technology and, together with the online package, a permanent online connection. Upgraded automatic air conditioning will in future be able to ionize the interior air in the F-Pace and free it from particularly fine dust particles. A new automatic selector lever, new interior door panels and new seats with optimized air conditioning and heating functions round off the measures.
Market launch and prices
The British have turned the price screw a lot, because the basic version in Germany is around 15 percent above the previous entry-level price at 52,800 euros. The first vehicles will come into customer hands at the beginning of 2021. (Text: tv, mh / sp-x | Images: manufacturer)
