Streaming service Spotify and chat platform Discord suffered major disruptions for several hours tonight.
Spotify users reported on social media that they were automatically logged out and could no longer log in to the streaming service. At around 7.30 pm, the Downdetector platform registered a peak of tens of thousands of reports of malfunctions.
Around 9 p.m., the streaming service announced that the problems as good as solved† Further details about the cause were not disclosed.
Chat platform Discord also reported connection problems tonight. According to the company, chat messages were not sent properly. Around 9 p.m. it was again possible for users to chat and stream. However, there were still problems with sending attachments.
It is unclear whether the disruptions at the companies are related.
