What is a body kit anyway? So for me a body kit consists of a front bumper, wheel arch extensions, a set of side skirts, a rear bumper and, if necessary, a diffuser and spoilers. If a modified bonnet comes into play, it will usually be a perfect conversion.

In the cooperation between the companies JP Performance, Prior Design and “Dr. Crazy Rouwen ”, after about four months of design development, a body kit for a youngtimer was created! Crazy, right? For the 40th birthday of Audi Quattro, there is a body kit strictly limited to 40 kits for the Audi Coupé. For that alone you have to love Andreas Belzek, Jean Pierre Krämer and Rouwen.

The body kit was developed in Kamp-Lintfort, i.e. at Prior Design, and is also produced there. As mentioned, it consists of a front bumper, a front extension, a front spoiler, a hood, cup wings, the extensions for the front, the side skirts, the extensions for the rear, a rear bumper and a diffuser.
As you know, I have an eventful tuning past – and this body kit meets my taste exactly! To the point! If I had an Audi Coupé, I would convert it in exactly the same way, even if I can understand many Audi Coupé owners who prefer to leave the vehicle original, especially if it was an Audi S2 Coupé – by the way, it came with Quattro at the time All wheel drive. The Audi Coupé had 4-cylinder, 5-cylinder and 6-cylinder units under the bonnet. The performance range was between 113 and 230 horse power! The maximum torque of 350 Nm developed the 230 PS strong 2.2 liter 5-cylinder in the Audi Coupé S2, which rolled off the production line from 1992-1995.

At that time, it went up to country road speed within 5.9 seconds and reached a top speed of 248 km/h. The vehicle came onto the market in 1988, and the first slight facelift took place just three years later. The last Audi Coupé (Type 89) rolled off the assembly line at the end of 1996. Oh, those were the days! The Audi 80 Cabriolet, which is based on the Audi Coupé, is still beautiful today. Would the body kit from Prior also fit on the vehicle?

The body kit for the Audi Coupé is made of GRP. I know from well-informed sources that PRIOR swears by BÜFA materials here. Between us? In my opinion, these are the best! I still recognize BÜFA resins by their smell today! The presale starts in a couple of days and I’m pretty sure that these 40 sets will sell out faster than JP, Andreas and Rouwen can imagine. If Andreas wants to make a VW Golf 3 wide body, I would still have a GTI in front of the door;).
