Lately it has become very hip and happening in the media: eating superfoods. But why are superfoods so healthy and what recipes can you make with them? This article gives a number of recipes with which you can take your health to a higher level.
Quinoa Salad
Quinoa is an annual plant mainly found in South America. It can be compared to couscous, except that quinoa is not a cereal and so it is gluten-free. Quinoa is rich in essential amino acids, vitamins B2 and E and iron, copper and magnesium. Quinoa, on the other hand, is low in calcium. Quinoa is also a source of unsaturated fatty acids. Due to its high protein content, quinoa is cholesterol-free and low in fat. Another benefit of quinoa is that it is low in calories.
Ingredients Quinoa salad:
- Quinoa
- Zucchini
- Cucumber
- Cherry tomatoes
- Italian spices
- Coconut cooking cream
Cook the Quinoa according to the package. You need very little because quinoa grows to about 3 times the size when you cook it. Typically, quinoa takes about 12 minutes to cook. In the meantime, cut the zucchini into cubes and heat some coconut cooking cream in a frying pan. Cook the zucchini in the frying pan and add some Italian herbs for flavor. In the meantime, you can already cut the cherry tomatoes and cucumber and put them in a salad bowl. When the Quinoa has finished cooking, it is best to drain the quinoa in a sieve. Then let the quinoa cool down. When the zucchini is cooked, remove it from the heat and let it cool. When everything has cooled down, put it together in a salad bowl and enjoy your super healthy salad. For variety you can also add feta cheese, a spring onion or other vegetables that you like. Try to alternate!

Ingredients kiwi / banana juice:
- 2 kiwis
- 2 bananas
- Water / coconut water
- Possibly Camu Camu and Maca powder
Peel the two kiwis and the bananas and cut them into pieces. Put the pieces of fruit in the blender with a glass of water or coconut water. Then add a tablespoon of Camu Camu and Maca for a vitamin C boost! Turn on the blender and make sure all the fruit is fine. Then you serve it in a cup and you can enjoy your delicious juice.

Yogurt with flax seeds
Do you find a juice for breakfast too little? Or do you prefer to eat yogurt for breakfast. Then this recipe is a good solution
Ingredients:
- Full Yogurt
- Broken linseed
- Possibly stevia or fruit
Actually, this is a very easy recipe and you made it like this. Put the full-fat yogurt in a container and add a handful of broken linseed. The linseed is tasteless so if you want to add more flavor, use stevia or a tasty fruit and put this through.
Isn’t there broken linseed in your supermarket? Then buy whole flaxseed and crush it with a mortar. You cannot digest whole linseed very well and you just poop out again. Broken linseed is for sale at the Jumbo and the Supercoop. Health food stores also have it. Linseed has a neutral taste and you cannot taste it through the yogurt.
Stevia is a sweetener powder that consists of Steviol glycosides and Inulin. So there is no sugar in it!
