Professional brewing techniques and modern technology are used, which means that the specialty beers are consistently of high quality.
The Wadden Islands
Texel is one of the Wadden Islands. The effect of ebb and flow has had a major influence on the formation of the current Wadden Islands. The mud flats became dry at low tide and flooded at high tide. This wore channels in the mudflats and thus the Wadden Islands were created. The Wadden Islands are located in the North Sea north of the Netherlands and Germany and west of Denmark. In total, just over eighty-one thousand inhabitants live on the Wadden Islands. The Dutch inhabited islands are: Texel, Vlieland, Terschelling, Ameland and Schiermonnikoog (mnemonic TVTAS).
Uninhabited Wadden Islands are, for example, Rottumeroog, Griend- and Simonszand. The Wadden Islands are constantly in motion, they ??to walk?? very slowly from west to east. On the east side, land is created by the larger sandbanks, on the west side of the island a piece of the island disappears into the sea. The Wadden Sea Region fills up at high tide and empties at low tide. This makes the Wadden Sea region unique in the world, there are only a few comparable areas. This is the reason that a large part of the Wadden Sea Region since June 2009 on the Unesco World Heritage List state.
Texel
The Texel landscape differs from the other islands because of the solid boulder clay layer that was created in the Ice Age. This layer formed the basis of Texel. The climate on Texel makes Texel beer so special, it is said Texel’s specialty beer has seen more sunshine. There is thirty percent less rainfall on the island than in the rest of the Netherlands. Together with the sun, this guarantees the best ripening and therefore full barley grains.
