Honorary Cemetery Kanchanaburi (Don Rak) is one of the three resting places for the victims of the Dead Railway. Here are the remains of 6,982 Australian, British and Dutch prisoners of war. The cemetery is recognized by the Dutch government as an official Dutch plot.
The plot is located in the Thai city of Kanchanaburi, about 129 kilometers west of the capital Bangkok. The first thing that visitors see when they enter the plot is a large marble cross in memory of the victims. It is not known exactly how many Dutch victims are here; many graves are anonymous.
