Breeding
Breeding with these fish is not very difficult, provided you meet certain conditions. For example, the water in the breeding tank must be very soft (hardness 0-5) and have a lot of plants. The parent animals must also be a bit older than other salmon when breeding. Failed throws are often due to the parents being too young. Once eggs have been laid, the fish should be caught as soon as possible as they will eat their eggs. The eggs will hatch after about 30 hours. The young fish should be fed with brine shrimp. When they reach a size of 2 inches, they will stop growing for a moment. After a break of three to four weeks, they then continue to grow. Vegetable food and regular water changes will yield well-developed fish.
