The most popular dishes
The Netherlands is a multicultural country and this is also reflected in our eating habits. We no longer eat Dutch pot every day, but also Surinamese roti, Turkish bulgur, Indian chicken, Spanish paella and Italian pasta dishes. Most people therefore eat very varied and prepare various types of national, but also international recipes.
Well-known Dutch dishes
A supermarket says a lot about our multicultural society. For example, you can buy fruit and vegetables from various countries here, with which you can prepare the most delicious dishes. Endive stew, kale stew and stew are still very popular recipes. The stews are real winter food and are therefore mainly eaten in the winter months.
Bags for stew
Nowadays you can buy bags in the supermarket containing the already cut vegetables for making a stew, such as stew. All you have to do is add potatoes, mash the sliced vegetables and cook the stew. This way you can quickly and easily prepare a typical Dutch dish.
Brussels sprouts and minced meat
Other still popular products and recipes are based on Brussels sprouts and the Dutch meatball. The latter in particular is really a recipe from grandmother’s time. This is made by turning the minced meat into a ball and then frying it. To ensure that the ball does not fall apart during roasting, you can add an onion, breadcrumbs, breadcrumbs or crumbled rusk. Often a little salt and pepper are also added to the meatball.

Much care is then given to the Christmas meal. Examples of still popular Christmas meals are roulade, rabbit, deer, Christmas turkey, roasted chestnuts, but also chicken fillet, lasagna, fish dishes or venison steak. In addition, there is a lot of gourmet. In addition to the main course, there is often also a delicious dessert. This can be ice cream, but also homemade Christmas pudding. When it comes to drinking, we are also very diverse in our country. Thus, the German mulled wine is becoming increasingly popular.
