Full pea soup
Pea soup is available in various compositions. But you will make the pea soup fuller if you add more vegetables.
Ingredients
- 700 grams of split peas
- stock cubes (vegetables)
- 1 lean beef smoked sausage
- 1/5 onion
- 250 grams of leek
- 150 grams of celeriac
- 3 tablespoons of celery leaf
- pepper and salt
Preparation
Place a pan with about 2 liters of water on it, add the washed split peas and bring to the boil. This should simmer gently in a covered pan for 45 to 50 minutes. Then add a few vegetable stock cubes.
Then the other vegetables can be washed and minced. Now also slice the beef smoked sausage and add everything to the pea soup. Let this all stand for another 30 to 40 minutes on medium heat and finally add water with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve with hearty whole grain sock bread.
Brussels sprouts stew
Brussels sprouts are either delicious or gruesome, for most people there is not much in between. But we see a stew less often of these sprouts.
Ingredients
- 1.5 kilos of potatoes
- 1 kilo of Brussels sprouts
- 100 ml crème fraîche
- 2 eggs
- 75 grams of butter
- 100 grams of cheese spread
- nutmeg
- pepper and salt
Preparation
Clean the potatoes and cook for about 20 to 25 minutes. Because the sprouts need to be cooked for a shorter time, you can add the crème fraîche, eggs, and butter to the drained potatoes and mix well with the potatoes. Finally, add some nutmeg and salt and pepper to taste. For the Brussels sprouts you sit for around 15 to a maximum of 20 minutes to cook. After cooking, mix it well with the potato mixture and make a whole. Then pour it into an oven dish and sprinkle cheese on top. Put it in the oven for a maximum of 2 minutes for the delicious crust over the stew.
Serve it with a beef meatball, beef steak, or smoked sausage. It all fits.
Haddock pie
An unusual cake that can be combined with various fresh vegetables.
Ingredients
- 1.5 kg of potatoes
- 600 grams of haddock fillets
- 3 dl milk
- 1 bunch of spring onions
- 200 grams of crème fraîche
- 150 grams of cheese
- olive oil
- pepper and salt
Preparation method
Clean the potatoes and cook them in a large saucepan in enough water. Take about 15 to 20 minutes for it. At the same time, the haddock can be cooked in the pan with a dash of olive oil and lots of chopped spring onions. This should cook for about 10 minutes. Then the fish can be filleted.
In the meantime, the potatoes can be drained and a mixture of about 2 dl milk and a few spring onions can be crushed and added to the potatoes. Then also add the crème fraiche, salt and pepper to taste and about 50 grams of grated cheese. Finally add the fish and mix well. Put everything in a large baking dish and sprinkle the remaining greenhouse on top. Let it rest for about 15 to a maximum of 20 minutes at 200 degrees in the oven.
Serve it out with broccoli or spinach.
