The situation surrounding the cyber attack that hit industrial group VDL Groep in the night from Wednesday to Thursday will continue. A company spokesperson said that.
He cannot say whether it is a ransomware attack. Yesterday, the company only said it was an attack “that affects the entire business.”
Nedcar is quiet again
It is clear, however, that production is not possible or is only partially possible at several VDL Groep companies. For example, production at VDL Nedcar in Born did not start this morning either. As a result, most of the staff are forced to stay at home for the second day.
The newspaper De Limburger writes that the systems may be restarted slowly on Monday and that production can be resumed on Tuesday. Due to the digital attack, it is also not possible to e-mail at VDL Nedcar.
Not all VDL Groep companies have been affected to the same extent. The group includes 105 companies. There are locations in Asia and America, among others. The group has more than 15,000 employees worldwide and last year had a turnover of 4.7 billion euros.
