At prices starting at 26,895 euros (before deducting any subsidies), the VW e-up! now available again after a long break. The equipment of the small car, which is only offered as “Style Plus”, includes air conditioning, 15-inch alloy wheels and a lane departure warning system. A fast charging connection is also standard on board. The technology remains unchanged: a net 32.3 kWh battery drives a 61 kW/83 hp electric motor, the range is up to 258 kilometers according to Volkswagen (combined power consumption: 14.4 kWh/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 0 g/km)². Meanwhile, the AC wallbox is used for charging with a maximum of 7 kW, while up to 40 kW are possible with the CCS fast charger.
VW had the e-up! temporarily withdrawn from the market in autumn 2020, officially because the delivery times had increased drastically due to the high demand. After the electric sister models Skoda Citigo and Seat Mii were no longer available, there was a big gap in the segment of cheap and small electric cars. VW does not say when the vehicles that can now be ordered will be delivered. If they are with the customer before the turn of the year, they can apply for the e-car premium of 9,570 euros. It is still unclear what the funding will look like from 2023. (Text. hh/sp-x, tv | Pictures: manufacturer)
