Modern man is often stressed. Why? Because people often pass themselves by and cannot enjoy simple things. Everything has to go fast, so much has to be done in such a short time. Maybe we should take an example from our four-legged friends. Cats and dogs enjoy life, relax on time, sleep a lot, like to move and make new social contacts. In addition, they focus on only one activity at a time. Multitasking is not for them.
We can learn something from our animals!
We all know the saying “a dog’s life”. Well, maybe a dog’s life isn’t that bad after all! Just look at your four-legged friend. Snuggle up in the sun, walk through the meadows and on the beach, enjoy a caress, play with a ball, frolic together, sniff and play with peers. Also cats can do something. They also play when they feel like it, lie down on the windowsill, enjoy the sun, get their food and drink on time, concentrate on a toy, are nicely pampered. High time that we also learn to enjoy a little more!
Power naps
Have you often looked enviously at your dog or your cat when it was sleeping blissfully on a windowsill, on the sofa or on the floor in a dash of sunlight? With a dog, this can sometimes even be done with the four legs in the air, belly bare. Well, they are more than right and we should imitate them more often. Taking a short nap is very healthy. It helps against the famous afternoon dip. A short sleep break of about 20 to 30 minutes maximum makes you sharper and more alert, it boosts your memory, lowers your stress and increases your immunity. After the power nap you often have good ideas again. So close those eyes for a moment and surrender to Morpheus without hesitation.
Stretching
After this delicious nap, our four-legged friends first take the time to stretch themselves out. Paws forward and shit up. It is well known that stretching is beneficial to your body and mind. When you stretch, blood circulation is promoted. As a result, more oxygen goes to the muscles and that makes the muscles more flexible. Stretching can also help with stress and relieve your lower back.
To enjoy
Even when your four-legged friend is not sleeping, he can sit or lie down and enjoy without doing anything. Have you ever watched him keep an eye on you? How does he track every move you make? How does he enjoy the treats you give him? How nothing can distract him from that moment? We also better imitate this character trait. Learning to enjoy what we are doing, without worrying or doing other things. So just enjoy a nice meal and a good glass of wine without strumming on your mobile phone or smartphone. Walking through nature and simply enjoying scents and colors around you. Play with your baby without thinking about the laundry baskets. Just enjoy the present moment more.
Cuddle
Hugging lowers blood pressure, that is a common knowledge. Have you ever seen how your pet enjoys when you caress him or her. Cats purr, dogs are even more comfortable. Moreover, they come and ask for it themselves when they need it. Your cat will bump into your legs while purring loudly. Your dog will come pushing his head under your arm. They are not ashamed to come and ask for a caress. Good reasons to cuddle with your partner, your brother, your sister or your parents, just unexpected and without reason.
Move and laugh
Exercise is good for health. It has been proven that good blood circulation in the brain is important for proper brain function. Modern man is sitting way too much. Time to get out and about. If you have a dog, you can take a walk with him or her two or three times a day. Cat owners will have to go out alone. But also playing wild for half an hour with a string or with a toy mouse can be a start. In addition, you will often have to laugh loudly at your pet’s crazy antics. Because they do not hesitate to bend over backwards to get hold of that ball or to get hold of that hidden candy. And everyone knows that laughter is healthy!
Social contacts
Dogs enjoy many different social contacts. When you go for a walk with them, they look for congeners. And then there is sniffed to your heart’s content, deliberated and weighed and found to be good or bad. If you go outside with your dog, you often also have a lot of new social contacts because dog owners often get to talk together. Going on a tour with your dog is therefore also good to get out of your own isolation and to talk to people of all kinds.
Be grateful
Your dog is grateful to you for playing with him, for taking him for a walk, for caressing him, for feeding him. Your cat is happy because you caress him, because you play with him, because you let him out in the garden. The dog wags its tail, the cat purrs. When you are grateful, you develop a good feeling. As a human being, it would therefore be better to express your gratitude once more. It will only make you feel better and happier.
Concentration
Have you ever looked at how concentrated a dog or a cat keeps an eye on prey before jumping on it? He sees nothing anymore, only the prey. Notice when Felix or Max is eating. Look at the crib, nothing else counts. Our pets focus on what they are doing. No multitasking. Perhaps we should also take this as an example and concentrate a little more on what we are doing. Reading a book while watching television or watching television and sitting on the computer, nothing is worse for our brain, our concentration and our health.
