Chinese woman scams compatriots for money to flee after surgery

Thai immigration officials have arrested a 30-year-old Chinese woman, Mrs. JING QU, for defrauding compatriots out of nearly 8 million baht (approximately 1.5 million yuan) by falsely claiming she could secure them positions as flight attendants with major airlines. The victims, six in total, fell for her scam and paid the amount over to her.

After receiving the money, JING QU underwent facial surgery to alter her appearance and evade detection before fleeing to Thailand. She was located and apprehended in a luxury condominium in the Rama 4 area of Bangkok. The police revealed that JING QU had been on Interpol’s wanted list due to her fraudulent activities.

JING QU entered Thailand in 2022 on a tourist visa, valid for 15 days, but has overstayed for more than 650 days. Authorities have now detained her for legal proceedings and will be deporting her back to China afterwards.
