Caught: “Mae Bai Naad” scams gold sales, losses over 85 million baht

The Cyber Police have arrested “Mother Bai Naad,” identified as Mr. Promthada Nakjaroen, a director of Thada Gold, for scamming over 500 victims by selling gold at prices lower than the market rate, resulting in total damages of over 85 million baht.

On October 9, 2024, police from the Special Investigations Division apprehended the suspect based on an arrest warrant for fraud and violations of the Computer Crimes Act. The suspect was brought to the Cyber Crime Division in Muang Thong Thani for questioning.

When questioned by reporters about offering apologies to the victims or acknowledging guilt, “Mother Bai Naad” declined to respond, stating only that they would clarify matters with the authorities.

Earlier that day, the Cyber Police executed a search warrant at “Mother Bai Naad’s” residence in Lam Luk Ka, Pathum Thani, leading to the arrest. A press conference is scheduled for 3:00 PM to provide further details.
