Police in Uthai Thani Province apprehended a couple involved in dismantling car parts for resale on the black market, discovering over 40 vehicle registrations hidden in a pool next to their home, with an estimated damage value exceeding 40 million baht.

The investigation began in April 2024 when the first victim reported their pawned car missing. By September, a second victim reported a similar loss. Police launched an investigation leading them to a home in the Uthai Thani area suspected of being used to dismantle stolen cars.
After securing a search warrant on September 27, 2024, the police searched the identified home. They found numerous car parts and other incriminating evidence which was confiscated for further investigation.
The couple, identified as Yuttana and Napapat, claimed to operate a second-hand auto parts business and were purchasing cars through social media listings for resale. They admitted to dismantling multiple vehicles each month at their residence.
However, they failed to provide any purchase documents, claiming they destroyed them post-sale. As a result, they were charged with theft and receiving stolen property, and legal proceedings have commenced.
The recovered items included numerous car parts, totaling 28 specific types such as 14 truck cabins, various doors, engine covers, and 45 license plates retrieved from the pool nearby, indicating that at least 60 cars were dismantled at that location.
