The Department of Corrections has taken custody of 17 individuals from the Di Icon Group, conducting health checks and fingerprinting but not yet cutting their hair. They will be kept in solitary confinement for five days before being transferred to the main prison.

On October 17, 2024, police apprehended these individuals on charges of fraud and computer-related crimes. Those arrested include prominent figures known as “Boss” with various nicknames, totaling 17 people, including the likes of ‘Boss Tommy’ and ‘Boss Sam’.

They face serious accusations of conspiring to deceive the public and falsifying computer data, with the court denying bail for all defendants.

Currently, the detainees are being held in Bangkok’s Special Prison and the Central Women’s Correctional Institution. One suspect remains under investigation as they await additional details from their lawyer, and all suspects have denied the charges.

Khanokwan Jiwcheuphan, the Deputy Spokesperson for the Department, noted that the 10 male and 7 female detainees will have their personal and health information recorded, but their hair will not be cut, just neatly tied back.

New inmates typically experience stress, and monitoring will be provided through CCTV for 24 hours, with medical and psychological support available for adjustment assistance.

Additionally, new inmates from the same case will be segregated to avoid large groups, though they may occasionally share a space for comfort. They will be in quarantine for five days as a COVID-19 precaution before being moved further within the prison. Lawyers can visit via an online system immediately, while family visits will commence only after the quarantine period.
