The police in Bueng Kan successfully arrested a man responsible for throwing stones at vehicles, breaking their windows. This followed two reports from victims who experienced similar attacks in close succession. The authorities discovered the suspect was under the influence of methamphetamine when he committed the acts, which occurred between September 20-22, 2024.

On September 23, Police Colonel Pakorn Pawilai confirmed the incidents occurred on Highway 212, causing public distress. Following their investigation, officers captured a 29-year-old suspect, identified as Wutipong “Tum” Janthap, and charged him with attempted murder.

CCTV footage from a nearby garage revealed an incident involving a Toyota pickup truck, driven by a 25-year-old man, which stopped after hearing a loud noise, later discovering damage to his vehicle. A second victim, a woman driving a Mazda, also reported a rock was thrown at her car but was too frightened to stop at the time.

Investigations led police to Tum, who admitted to throwing stones after consuming methamphetamine. He was found hiding by a streetlight where he threw rocks at passing vehicles. Tum reported that he had been using the drug since middle school and experienced hallucinations, attributing his actions to prior trauma from an accident at the same location.

Upon arrest, he was charged with three offenses: illegal possession and use of narcotics, causing property damage, and attempted murder. He is now in custody awaiting further court proceedings.
