A 32-year-old Russian woman, named Junie, was rescued after drifting in the sea off Na Jomtien beach for 7 hours, approximately 8 kilometers from shore. She had been swimming after consuming some alcohol and lost her sense of direction, eventually becoming exhausted and floating until she called for help.
On September 25, 2024, at around 4:30 PM, a fishing crew reported her situation, prompting a local boat captain, Mr. Supach Chomdoei, to take a speedboat to provide assistance. The fishing boat had located her at around 4:00 PM and rescued her, bringing her back safely to shore at Bang Saray beach.
Upon reaching safety, she was immediately evaluated for health concerns, and assistance was coordinated with a local rescue unit to transport her to the hospital for a check-up. Further arrangements were made for her hotel to pick her up after her medical evaluation.
