The incident occurred on September 26, 2024, and police were called to intervene after receiving multiple complaints.
The identified teacher, Mr. Natthapas Kheuraeang, was found visibly drunk with a shotgun shell nearby. He admitted that the bullet belonged to him and indicated that he left the actual firearms at home. Upon visiting his residence, police discovered one long gun and two handguns without any permits.
Local officials described Natthapas as a regular drinker who often caused disturbances at the school, impacting the learning environment. His disruptive behavior included opening loud music that hindered classes, leading to fear and avoidance among students.
Natthapas’s wife expressed her frustration, stating that despite her efforts to stop him from bringing firearms to school, he did not listen. She recounted their 12 years of marriage, highlighting his ongoing struggle with alcohol addiction.
