In Songkhla, a mother reported her missing 15-year-old son, a third-year student, to the police after he disappeared for over five days. Unfortunately, his body was discovered in a stagnant water area, suggesting he was murdered for robbery. The police are currently questioning suspects who were last seen with the victim.

On September 29, 2024, police received reports from locals about a floating corpse near a water area in the Khlong Hoi Khong district. Officers, along with medical staff and rescue teams, promptly investigated the scene. The deceased was identified as Kanwann Othong, or Nong Fang, found face-down and appearing to have been dead for several days. He wore a school uniform and showed signs of strangulation, prompting authorities to notify the victim’s family.

The victim’s mother, Manasshanan Othong, reported her son missing to the police on September 25, 2024. The boy had last been seen with his motorcycle and personal belongings, all of which are still missing. Locals who first encountered the body noted that they detected a foul odor while foraging for mushrooms and subsequently alerted the authorities upon discovering the body.

Police are working to gather evidence and have begun questioning the victim’s friends who were the last to be with him to help identify the murderer.
