
Ali B was attacked by armed people at his house in Almere. The artist and presenter says in a video on Instagram that he gave the robbers what they wanted. According to Omroep Flevoland, it is a Rolex watch.
“But more importantly, I and my family are healthy and unharmed,” the artist writes with the video. In the recording, he explains that he and his driver were robbed in his street. “People wanted something. I gave it because I think: the sooner you give it, the sooner you get rid of it.”
Ali B does not want to give further details because of the police investigation. “I hope they catch the perpetrators.”

In recent years, well-known Dutch people have been targeted more often by robbers. Make-up artist and YouTube star Nikkie de Jager was robbed in her house last year, tied up and beaten with a firearm, after which the robbers made off with jewelry, among other things. Football analyst René van der Gijp was threatened with a hammer at his home last year.
At the end of last year, the police arrested a group of men suspected of a series of robberies against famous Dutch and wealthy people. According to the Public Prosecution Service, they worked in varying composition. A total of seven suspects have been arrested. They have been provisionally released pending trial.
