Although the Audi S3 spotted on the Grossglockner High Alpine Road in Austria looks very similar to the current model, keen observers will be able to spot some minor changes to the exterior design. At the front, the ventilation slots at the corners appear to have been revised, while at the rear there are modified bumpers and probably a new rear diffuser. The Audi RS 3, on the other hand, which was photographed during test drives on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, has received a massive exterior refresh, even though it has only been in dealers for a good year and a half. The front section and radiator grille are more closely based on the RS 7, with the front end now looking sleeker overall. The optical retouching ensures that the RS 3 appears significantly larger, almost like an Audi S4 sedan.

Completely new A3 generation from 2027
At the rear of the vehicle, the diffuser and side panels also look modified. The taillights flow into each other, similar to the Lexus IS500. What remains distinctive is the four-pipe exhaust system, which flows into two fist-thick oval panels. It is unclear whether Audi is also planning changes to the powertrains of the A3 and its sporty derivatives as part of the revision. The next A3 generation, which is expected to come onto the market from 2027, will be exclusively electrically powered and based on the new VW electric vehicle architecture “Scalable Systems Platform” (SSP).
