The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has dismantled a gang involving foreigners and Thais who were illegally selling sex toys, managing to circulate millions of baht.
General Police Lieutenant Prachuab Wongsuk ordered continuous investigations into crimes related to children, women, human trafficking, and sex and labor violations.
The CIB, under the direction of Police Major General Jirapop Purdidech, deployed officers to arrest 9 suspects for illegally selling sex toys and importing obscene computer data. They discovered 2,580 illegal sex toys and 66 electronic devices. They executed searches at 5 locations.
The first target led to the arrest of two Thai nationals, Sujada (26) and Anon (25), in Bangkok with 2,127 sex toys.
The second target in Bangkok apprehended Laotian national Dokkeo Douang (32) and Thai national Mongkolwithu (40) with 8 devices.
The third target involved Laotian national Niksanh (30) found with 424 sex toys.
The fourth target revealed Thai national Chaiwat (31) with 29 sex toys and 23 sex drugs.
The last target, in Chonburi, resulted in 3 arrests related to the Telegram group “PimThaidai,” seizing 58 devices.
Earlier, police had investigated and arrested those involved in human trafficking and production of child pornography, with minors being lured into filming sexual content using sex toys.
In September 2024, police received complaints about illegal activities on social media, finding a Telegram group with over 90,000 members sharing pornographic material, including videos involving underage individuals.
The offenders reportedly sold sex toys and sexual enhancement drugs through these illegal channels, earning substantial income over two years.
Authorities affirmed that sex toys remain illegal in Thailand, emphasizing the need for parental vigilance to protect children from becoming victims of trafficking or pornography.
