Ms. Chotika Seosila, 32, who came from Saraburi, arrived at the shop at 2 AM and slept in her car. She signed up for queue number 28 and had purchased a Pi Xie gold bracelet worth 30,000 Baht for her mother’s birthday through a live sale by Ma Tak about a year ago.
Later, her mother needed money and pawned the gold, which was found to be below standard, leading to alarm and the threat of police involvement. This caused great distress, and while they didn’t initially consider filing a complaint due to a lack of news, the growing reports of damage encouraged many affected customers to return their gold in hopes of getting their full money back since they had paid full price initially and expected the same upon return, without pursuing legal action.
