DSI set to invite experts to examine “Boss Paul” luxury watch

The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) is set to invite experts to lead an examination of luxury watches seized from Boss Paul. If proven to be counterfeit, it will not affect the ongoing investigation into the case.

This follows the statements made by the well-known news presenter, Kornchai Kanokphloy, about the DSI’s search of a rental room in the Ram Inthra area of Bangkok. The DSI confiscated several luxurious items, including 19 luxury watches, gold necklaces, and gold-encased Buddha amulets. Experts who viewed images of the seized watches claimed them to be fake, stating that none matched the images of Boss Paul wearing these watches. They suggested that officials consult specialists for verification.

On October 23, 2024, Pol. Lt. Col. Yutthana Paen-dam, acting director-general of the DSI, confirmed that whether the seized items are authentic or counterfeit will undergo a formal examination. He will assign the Intellectual Property Crime Division to conduct this process and oversee the inclusion of experts.

However, if the luxury watches are deemed counterfeit, it will not impact the investigation into their possession. The focus will shift to understanding why these items were hidden in that room and whether they are linked to criminal activities.
