Paul denies allegations, insists The Icon is not a Ponzi scheme

The Central Investigation Police continue to interrogate 18 suspects related to The Icon Group company. Boss Paul, represented by attorney Withoon Kengngan, has denied the allegations and insists that the business is not a Ponzi scheme. They are preparing to submit collateral to request bail in court, arguing that he has been reporting to authorities every five days and has no intention of fleeing.

On October 17, 2024, police took the 18 suspects from their place of detention to the Central Investigation Bureau for further questioning. Attorney Withoon noted that the suspects were separated for questioning, with Boss Paul maintaining his previous statements from media appearances, reiterating that their business model is legitimate.

Despite the police’s objections to their bail requests, they are unfazed and have prepared their submissions, although specifics on the amount are not disclosed as another legal team is still working on it.

In their bail request to the court, they plan to highlight that Paul has reported to authorities regularly, indicating he has no intent to escape. His recent arrest occurred while he was giving a statement to officials from the Office of the Consumer Protection Board (OCPB). If denied bail, he remains unconcerned, viewing it merely as a change of scenery while expressing a desire for his family, especially his mother, to be taken care of during his detention.
