Pickup truck falls 10 meters in Lat Krabang, 3 injured

An accident involving a pickup truck occurred when it fell from an elevated bridge under construction in the area near Suksomman Intersection on Lat Krabang Road, resulting in several injuries. The bridge is part of the ongoing construction of the On Nut-Lat Krabang elevated road, which is over 10 meters high.

At around 2:00 AM on September 29, 2024, police officer Pol. Lt. Col. Jirayu Wongsingh was alerted to the incident. He and volunteers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation arrived on the scene to find a white Isuzu pickup truck, severely damaged and lying on its side after falling onto a parked 22-wheel Hino truck below, causing injuries to three individuals trapped inside.

The injured were identified as 33-year-old Mekhin Injai (the driver), 31-year-old Saranya Nohsaeng (his wife), and their one-year-old daughter, Anchisa Injai. They were all rescued and taken to Chulalongkorn Hospital, and their conditions are reported to be stable.

Mekhin claimed he did not see any warning signs prohibiting entry to the bridge and drove over 500 meters before realizing it was under construction. His vehicle crashed onto the truck below, injuring his entire family.

Authorities confirmed that a barrier was in place at the entrance to the bridge, allowing only a minimal opening for construction vehicles. The pickup truck also collided with the barrier on top, contributing to the accident. The investigation will continue once the driver’s condition improves.
