Police apprehended “Boy Don Tak” while driving a pickup truck with 24.5 kg of heroin concealed in the fuel tank. He admitted to being hired for 80,000 baht to transport the drugs from the Sangkla Buri border.

The operation is part of the government’s comprehensive drug problem solution policy, addressing everything from drug production to trafficking and the seizure of assets involved in drug dealings.

At 09:00 on October 10, 2024, officials received a tip-off about suspected drug trafficking along Highway 323 towards Thong Pha Phum, Kanchanaburi, leading to increased inspection efforts at intersection points.

At 10:15, authorities identified a gray Toyota Vigo truck matching the tip-off and stopped it, driven by 58-year-old Pakakorn Runglerd or “Boy Don Tak.” A thorough search revealed 70 packs of heroin in the fuel tank, weighing approximately 24.5 kg.

Further investigations led to the seizure of the drugs, an iPhone 12 Pro Max, and the truck. Pakakorn was charged with possession and distribution of narcotics, threatening public security.

When questioned, “Boy Don Tak” revealed he was hired to drive the drugs from Sangkla Buri to Kanchanaburi for a fee of 80,000 baht, but was apprehended before completing the task. Kanchanaburi police will continue the investigation.
