Wang Thong Lang Police Station unveils “Buddha Chayanan” statue

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Wang Thonglang Police Station, a ceremonial unveiling of the ‘Phra Buddha Chaiyantee,’ a 30-inch seated statue, took place in front of the police station. The event was organized to bring blessings and morale to the police officers, serving as a spiritual anchor in their duties.

The ceremony began at 09:29 AM on October 17, 2024, led by Police Colonel Jetsada Yangnok, the station’s chief. The ‘Phra Buddha Chaiyantee’ was formally consecrated with the presence of ‘Phra Thep Wachirasunthorn,’ the assistant abbot of Wat Phra Ram 9, who presided over the blessings alongside a gathering of 9 monks to chant and bless the statue, emphasizing the themes of victory, meditation, and peace for auspiciousness.

Former heads of the station and senior police officials attended, including notable figures such as Pol. Gen. Piya Tatiwat and other retired police chiefs from various regions. Also present were family members of former heads and representatives of the Wang Thonglang community, bringing together a large gathering to honor the occasion.

Following the religious rites, a ceremony was held to commemorate the history of the Wang Thonglang Police Station, with mementos distributed to 22 former station chiefs as part of the anniversary festivities.

Colonel Jetsada emphasized that the purpose of establishing the ‘Phra Buddha Chaiyantee’ statue is to enhance blessings and morale for all police officers, to help alleviate public concerns, and to serve as a source of respect and worship for the Wang Thonglang police and community in the future.
