The police of Khlong Hoi Khong have charged a 15-year-old youth with three offenses: intentional murder, concealment of a corpse, and robbery in the death of his close friend. The suspect was taken to the Family and Juvenile Court in Songkhla for further investigation by a multidisciplinary team.
This development follows the discovery of the body of 15-year-old Fang, a student from Wat Pho School, found in a deserted pond on September 30, 2024. Fang had been reported missing by his mother since the evening of September 24, after he rode his motorcycle to drop off two friends.
The suspected perpetrator, referred to as “Student A,” admitted to the crime, claiming the motive was anger over Fang insulting him. He was apprehended after Fang’s body was found in a school uniform.
On the morning of September 30, police escorted Student A from custody to the juvenile court for questioning. During transport, he expressed remorse to his friend and mother. The police are also set to interrogate another friend who was with them and Student A’s girlfriend to determine their involvement.
Investigators suspect that Student A may not have acted alone in committing the murder. An autopsy is scheduled to uncover further details regarding Fang’s injuries before the body is returned for funeral rites at Wat Thung Tam Sa, Hatyai district.
