A violent incident involving a group known as “Tae Or Ngern 41” occurred when they raided the house of a 16-year-old in Soi Ram Inthra 21, mistakenly believing he was part of a rival gang. Coincidentally, the victim, a 29-year-old delivery rider, was visiting his mother and celebrating his own birthday. When he attempted to confront the youth who were trespassing, he was shot twice and died shortly thereafter. Police managed to apprehend four suspects, one of whom was identified as the shooter aged just 16.
The tragic incident unfolded around 2:00 AM on October 18, as reported when the police received information about a fatal shooting at the Petchkasem Foundation office in Soi Ram Inthra 23. Upon arrival, they found the victim, a man named Phisal, lying dead with a gunshot wound to the chest, as well as mourners present including his girlfriend and family members.
The victim’s younger brother, a 16-year-old student, stated that his brother frequently visited their mother’s home. On the night of the incident, he had invited friends over to celebrate his belated birthday, which had taken place on October 10. They had been consuming beer when a group of 5-6 youths associated with the rival gang disrupted them, throwing a bottle into the house before they were chased away.
At approximately 1:00 AM, the attackers returned with weapons to retrieve their abandoned motorcycle and confronted the victim again. Despite attempts to defend himself, he was shot multiple times. The brother and friends attempted to transport him to the Petchkasem Foundation office for help, but he succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital.
The brother indicated that the altercation stemmed from an ongoing rivalry between gangs, and that they believed he was affiliated with the rival group. After analyzing the scene, police collected evidence including used shell casings from a 9 mm gun.
Subsequently, police reviewed surveillance footage and apprehended four suspects, including one minor. Investigations are ongoing to locate the weapon believed to have been disposed of in a nearby canal.
