A motorcycle collided with a pickup truck, leading to the death of the motorcyclist, identified as 27-year-old Peerapong Thongsan. The incident occurred on October 4, 2024, on Chaiyaphruek Road in Nonthaburi. The pickup truck driver, 63-year-old Prayuth Thammada, claimed he had stopped for 15 minutes due to a mechanical failure and had activated his hazard lights.

Prayuth asserted that he was seated in his vehicle while another passenger was signaling to drivers behind them. He claimed the motorcyclist, who was allegedly using his phone while riding, unexpectedly crashed into the rear of his truck.

A witness who accompanied the pickup driver stated that he was not standing behind the truck but was merely signaling with his hand. However, a nearby restaurant employee, aged 24, disputed this, claiming that the truck had been reversing before the collision, without anyone signaling from the rear.

Authorities have collected evidence from the scene and recorded statements from those involved. Further investigation will include a review of surveillance footage. The deceased’s body has been sent to the Institute of Forensic Science for autopsy.
