In Nonthaburi, police from Bang Yai station quickly apprehended a grilled chicken vendor after he stole two gold necklaces weighing a total of 6 baht from a gold shop. The thief claimed he needed the gold to pay off debts.
On the night of October 19, 2024, Officer Vasukit Panrat received a report of the robbery at the Golden 99 gold shop in the market. He arrived on the scene alongside other officers, including the station chief, to investigate.

The shop employee, 31-year-old Jettada Hormkaew, reported that the robber, masked and pretending to inquire about gold prices, first inspected some gold necklaces and indicated he would return to buy them later.
Before closing, the robber returned, asked to try on two necklaces, and while pretending to talk on the phone, tricked the employee into unlocking the shop door, claiming his girlfriend was coming with money. Seizing the opportunity, he fled on a motorcycle.

Police quickly coordinated and tracked the suspect down within 40 minutes at his home about 5-6 km from the robbery site. The thief was identified as 41-year-old Thawatchai Aromyim, who was found in possession of the stolen gold.

During interrogation, Thawatchai confessed that he planned the robbery to sell the gold to pay off debts. He was subsequently charged with theft and taken into custody.
