Police Chief Pol. Gen. Kittirat Phunpet held a meeting on the deadly bus fire case that resulted in 23 deaths, noting that charges have been filed against three suspects, while awaiting forensic evidence for further action.
The meeting took place on October 10, at the Khu Khot Police Station in Pathum Thani, featuring discussions on the investigation’s progress which has reached over 70%. The suspects include the bus driver, the bus owner, and the owner of the bus company involved in the incident.

Further investigations may involve other individuals potentially liable, including other bus owners, engineers, transport officials, and gas installation contractors, based on pending forensic reports expected by next week. A comprehensive evaluative team will collaborate to determine culpability and legal violations.

The police are committed to ensuring a thorough investigation without any oversight, emphasizing that every related party will be held accountable according to the evidence and circumstances of the case. Any transport officials found negligent will also be subjected to legal scrutiny.
Regarding the injured children, they remain under medical care, expected to need at least a month for recovery. A 14-year-old girl’s condition has improved, as stated by the Queen Sirikit National Institute of Child Health. While she is responding well to treatment, additional observation and emotional support are necessary during her recovery period.
