Big Tai dismisses Na Jomtien deputy over theft allegations

The Chief of Police has ordered the removal of Police Lieutenant Colonel Isur DaThong, the deputy chief of the Na Jom Thian police station in Chonburi, to the provincial operations center following allegations of his involvement in the theft of machinery worth 10 million baht. A team has been established to conduct a formal investigation into both disciplinary and criminal matters, with results expected within three days.

On October 13, 2024, Police Chief General Kittiratt Phunphetch addressed the media regarding the arrest of a gang involved in the theft. The incident occurred at the Paper Mint Company in Bang Lamung, Chonburi, on October 10, leading to the arrest of four suspects. These suspects allegedly implicated a police officer, Lieutenant Colonel Isur DaThong, as the mastermind of the crime.

The arrested individuals are: (1) Wacharakorn Sanwong, 35; (2) Krailat Sima, 33; (3) Somsak Koedpho, 54; and (4) Chaiyana Poomrak, 22. Various tools and a Toyota Hilux Revo pickup truck were seized during the arrests.

General Kittiratt instructed police from Region 2 and Provincial Police of Chonburi to gather detailed information regarding Lieutenant Colonel Isur, including any disciplinary actions taken against him. He emphasized that if evidence of wrongdoing is found, serious disciplinary measures will be enforced, and criminal charges will proceed without exception, setting an example for other officers.

The Chief has mandated that the investigation be expedited, with results reported back to him within a three-day timeframe.
