A car bomb explosion occurred on the road in front of the house of Lieutenant Colonel Jirasak Siriwanlop, the district chief of Tak Bai, causing damage to several nearby residences. Two soldiers were injured in the blast.

The explosion took place at 21:50 on September 29, 2024. Police Major Chalathit Kheow-on confirmed the bombing incident at Lieutenant Colonel Jirasak’s home located in Moo 3, Jeh Ha sub-district of Tak Bai district. The explosion damaged several nearby homes, and two soldiers were reported to have suffered burn injuries: Private Kantayod Binleema, aged 22, and Private Anuwat Hemra, also 22, both from a local military unit. They were taken to Tak Bai Hospital for treatment.

Police Colonel Suphach Na Phatthalung, the chief of the local police station, collaborated with security personnel to seal off the area to facilitate investigations the following morning.

Authorities have implemented a strict security plan for the Tak Bai municipality and Sungai Kolok district, intensifying checks on people and vehicles entering the area. They advise the public to avoid travel unless necessary during this period.
