On October 23, 2024, attorney Witoon Kaengngam brought seven employees from The iCon Group to meet with Central Investigation Police officials, seeking the return of mobile phones seized during police questioning. The employees had been called for questioning on October 22.
After leaving the police station, Witoon expressed frustration, stating that they were misled by officials who had earlier promised the phones would be returned but failed to provide any answers upon arrival. Consequently, the employees can’t contact anyone and feel helpless without their phones. Police informed them that the officials who took the phones must return them, without clarity on when this would happen.
Witoon emphasized that the seized phones are not evidence in the ongoing case. He stated their intention to return for the phones on October 24 at noon; if not returned, they would file a complaint against the police under Section 157.
One employee expressed emotional distress, explaining their need to contact their elderly and ill mother, after being unable to reach her since the police summons. They also highlighted the impact on their financial transactions and appealed for compassion from the authorities.
In related news, police were inspecting seized luxury vehicles from the case outside the Central Investigation Police headquarters, checking which ones were operational. One car, a yellow McLaren belonging to a boss, was noted to be non-operational.
