Authorities are investigating the site of a car bomb explosion outside the house of the Tak Bai District Chief in Narathiwat province. A group of insurgents stole a vehicle and used it for the bombing, injuring two soldiers and damaging several homes. The attackers also seized four motorcycles from local residents before fleeing to a nearby ferry terminal and escaping by fishing boat across the border. Officials are actively pursuing the suspects.
