The incident began in February 2024 when the girl’s relatives took her bedridden father back home, leaving her alone. Following minor incidents near their house, she filed a complaint, leading to the police officer’s involvement under the pretext of providing security. They maintained communication, during which the officer presented himself as a protector and paid for her meals and expenses.
In April 2024, the officer invited her out for a meal, suggesting a visit to the police station, which she felt was safe. However, once there, he assaulted her. Afterward, he threatened her to remain silent, using intimidation based on his past aggressive behavior toward other suspects.
After the incident, the officer continued to act as if everything was normal, even visiting her and providing financial support. Although the girl attempted to keep her distance, he persisted, prompting her to confide in her father. Fearing for their safety and receiving threats from the officer’s son, they ultimately decided to seek help.
The father reached out to a local non-profit advisor, Mr. Ekkapob, who committed to investigate the issue by contacting local police to ensure a thorough review and assist the victim in filing an official complaint and gathering evidence. Ekkapob expressed confidence in the girl’s account given the clear timeline of events and insisted that the police misconduct should be scrutinized, especially due to the allegations concerning the officer’s past actions.
