Four members of a family, including a former local councilor, were shot dead in their home in Songkhla. Authorities suspect the incident may have stemmed from family-related issues.
On September 7, 2024, at 3:45 PM, police were alerted to the shooting that resulted in four fatalities in a residence within the Songkhla municipality.
Police investigators, including the Superintendent of Songkhla City Police, arrived at the crime scene to conduct an examination.
The incident took place in a two-story house with locked gates. This was the residence of Mr. Chaiyacharn Kwanseung, a former city council member and recent candidate for deputy mayor.
Inside the house, authorities found four deceased individuals: Mr. Chaiyacharn (61) and his son, Mr. Kanet Kwanseung (16), in the living room, and his daughter, Ms. Kachawakon Kwanseung (18), and wife, Mrs. Natthapass Kwanseung (47), in different bedrooms. All victims had gunshot wounds to the head.

A handgun was discovered at the wife’s bedroom, suggesting she may be the perpetrator, although this is still under investigation. Initial assessments point to an internal family conflict as a possible motive.
Police are continuing to gather evidence and investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragedy, with further inquiries planned involving relatives and close acquaintances.
